What is ISPM15?
International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures - These are new international regulations relating to the control and spread of forest pests and timber diseases, that are recognised by the world trade organisation. Treatment to this standard is required when exporting to most industrial countries including the EU (from non EU countries), North America, Canada, Mexico, China, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Countries which have signed up to ispm-15 are entitled to refuse entry at their borders to goods on wooden pallets, in crates, spools or any other wood packaging unless it has been treated, marked and certified in accordance with their regulations.
Our Heat Treatment facilities......
In 2005, we invested in our award winning onsite Heat Treatment facilities, with a capacity to treat several hundred pallets / packing cases per day.
Trentwood uses heat treatment as it is the most widely used method used to comply with ISPM15. This is achieved by maintaining the constant core temperature of pallets or wood packaging at 56 degrees for a minimum of 30 minutes (HT 56/30). Trentwood Timber Supplies Ltd is registered and approved by the Forestry Commission to supply ISPM15 compliant packaging and we mark each item of packaging with the following symbol to show that it is ISPM15 compliant.
Documentary evidence is provided with any orders placed for heat treated pallets or packaging from Trentwood Timber Suppliers Ltd. The pallet or packing case will also have been stamped / branded with the Treatment Code, Country Code, Registration No. and Forestry Commission No.
